From holiday kitchens to a lifelong craft: Braiden

BraidenBraiden’s passion for cooking began early in life. As he watched his grandparents prepare delicious meals for the holidays, he realized how food had a unique power to bring people together in joy.

These formatives experiences led Braiden to Algonquin College’s Culinary Management program, whose collaborative environment has helped him grow into the culinary professional he aspires to be.

Braiden credits his success to the support of donor-funded financial aid. “The financial burden of tuition, books, residence, food, and student loan repayment would force me to work many more hours,” he said. Thanks to donor support, he can focus on his studies and participate in as many career-shaping practical experiences as he needs.

Braiden is a few months away from graduating, and he’s already working in in the culinary field. At the start of a promising culinary career, he has committed to carry forward the values embodied by the financial aid he’s received: generosity, collaboration, and excellence.

“Receiving financial aid has shown me the impact of people helping each other,” he said. “Donating to Algonquin College is a great act of kindness that truly makes a difference.”
