Students in Electrical – Remote Learning Kits Fund
Algonquin College’s Electrical Engineering Technician and Technology Program has created a fund to support applied research projects and remote hands-on learning for our students, and we need your help.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Algonquin College Electrical Engineering faculty has developed innovative off-campus alternatives to conventional in-class learning. This will minimize the reliance on hands-on lab activities that were traditionally done on campus.
As part of that solution, we are developing a take-home lab kit that we will loan to the students to complete experiments from home. Each kit will cost $250 and include a USB-based oscilloscope, a multimeter, electronic parts, tools, a power supply, and circuit prototyping supplies. These are essential tools for our learners to conduct electrical experiments from home. This equipment will allow the College to minimize the need to have the students on campus, reducing their risk of exposure to COVID-19.
The fund will also help support students’ applied research projects by allowing us to buy the necessary equipment and parts.
Your generosity will help us to maintain continuity in delivering our program and support innovative projects. The education of our Electrical Engineering Technician and Technologists is critical to the economic recovery of the electrical industry.
