With over 30 years of experience as a Director of Care and Executive Director in the Long Term Care sector, and Nursing Inspector, Rena has obtained a broad range of skills including human resource management, program development, policy development and implementation, streamlining procedures and finding innovative solutions to contemporary health care challenges.

Rena taught part-time for several years in the Health Sciences program at Algonquin College and sat on the Nursing Program Advisory Committee. Rena has also served as a Chair of the Algonquin College Alumni Association Board from 2004 to 2007, then served as Chair of the Alumni Association Board from 2008-2012.

In 2012, Rena became the first-ever Chair of the Algonquin College’s Alumni Advisory Committee which has since become the Alumni and Friends Network Advisory Committee and has been a member of the Algonquin College Foundation Board of Directors since 2013. Rena was an Ontario Premiers Award nominee in 2002 and Alumni of the Year at Algonquin College in 2007. She is a tireless advocate for Algonquin College and passionate about alumni and students.
