The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club are not only leaders on the ice but play an even more important role in the communities they serve and have been doing so since their re-introduction into the NHL in 1992. The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club also support numerous charities and community groups through the Ottawa Senators Foundation, the charitable arm of the hockey team. The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club have close to 200 full time staff that support the team in a number of areas: marketing, promotion, ticket sales, game day promotions, multi-media and communications to name a few.

The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club employ 50 Algonquin College alumni, take on numerous placements and co-ops from Algonquin College. Through the Ottawa Senators Foundation they have also supported the College through campaign support for the Algonquin College for Construction Excellence as well as five endowment funds that support in excess of 35 students each year who face financial emergencies while attending Algonquin College. The Senators also bridge with local school boards and the College through their annual support of the Ottawa Senators High School Scholarships that annually support 10 students attending Algonquin for $1000 each and have been doing so for the past decade.
