Angela brings to her teaching role 18 years of experience in the banking sector; as an Assistant Manager, Financial Advisor and Investment Specialist at TD Canada Trust. Angela has been teaching Business and Finance at Algonquin College since 2006. Angela is passionate about facilitating career goals through education, coaching and networking. In curriculum design, development and evaluation, Angela ensures that the needs of the primary stakeholder, in context of the goals of the organization, are the centre of all decisions. Angela’s research interests include the role of workplace and adult post-secondary learning in ensuring economic growth and equality. Angela holds a Masters in Education (MEd.) specializing in workplace and adult learning from the University of Calgary, an Honours Certificate in Teaching Adult Lifelong Learners (TALL) from Algonquin College and an Associate, Institute of Canadian Bankers designation (AICB) from The Institute of Canadian Bankers, now The Canadian Securities Institute (CSI).

Arpita has been teaching in the BUAD – Finance Program and the Financial Services – Canadian Context programs at Algonquin College since 2016.
Arpita has earned her Chartered Financial PlannerĀ® designation and holds an MBA degree from Hawaii Pacific University, USA. She has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration – concentrating in the fields of Marketing and Accounting.
She was employed as a Professor for 3 years at Independent University, Bangladesh (http://iub.ac.bd/), whose curriculum and education practices follow the North American liberal arts education model.
She later joined the financial services industry and was active in the Financial Advisory and Investment Consultant roles at TD Canada Trust for 10 years.
Arpita is very passionate about teaching and is committed to providing quality education and creating a positive learning environment for all students, as well as fostering their future career growth.
