Director of Marketing and Communications for the North American Indigenous Games 2023 Neal Alderson shares why this degree will play a key role in the success of tomorrow’s event organizers.

Hear what Rebecca Cotter, Manager of Communications and Community Engagement, City of Quinte West, has to say about how this new Events degree will open doors to individuals interested in becoming event industry leaders.

Hear from Professor Joe Goldblatt, who, quite literally, wrote the book on Event Management. Joe is the author, co-author and editor of over 40 books in the field of events management including the first text book that is extensively used in higher education. Joe talks about how the program addresses the educational gap in the events industry. He has received three lifetime achievement awards for his contributions to event management education.

“As live event and entertainment experiences finally and fully return to our lives, the launch of the Bachelor of Event, Sport and Entertainment Management degree program couldn’t be better timed. We will need skilled leaders and inspired visionaries to imagine and deliver these life-changing experiences that shape our world, culturally, socially and economically… and it will be the graduates of this program who bring them to us. Hats off to Algonquin College for prioritizing this program and recognizing the critical importance of higher-education in the sector.”
