“I had been in the retail business sector for several years before deciding I wanted to further my management skills through education. I decided in November 2016 that I wanted to attend the Business Management and Entrepreneurship program and by January I was sitting in my first class. I was wowed by the devotion and passion my teachers had for the program and business in general.

From the beginning, the professors were eager to hear your business plans and were active in seeing your ideas develop. During my time at Algonquin, I was given the opportunities to host events such as field trips to see how different sectors of the business industry operate. I saw myself growing as a manager and began to see how the business mindset can truly be applied to any industry.

While attending the program I had begun to work as a production assistant on a Documentary titled Ghostheads now available on Netflix. Using the skills I was learning in class, I could go home and apply the knowledge to financing, selling, negotiating, and pitching the film. By the end, I was promoted to Producer on the upcoming second Documentary all by applying the lessons I was taught in my program.

Through my time at Algonquin College I was given the tools to develop my own business post-graduation and the skills to become more than what I ever dreamed. Now I’m working for myself as a Virtual Assistant and Producing the second Documentary which is to be released in 2018 and it’s all thanks to the Business Management & Entrepreneurship program.”
