Q: If I am a student living in residence, should I move out?

In order to help minimize the risks of spreading the coronavirus (COVID-19), we are requesting students who are able to move out of Residence to do so by the end of the day on Sunday March 22.

Our Residence will remain open as we know that a number of students will not be able to return home because of travel restrictions, personal circumstances, or various obligations.

When making your decision, it is important to take into consideration that, although many programs are going online, if your Program of Study has co-op work-terms, practicums, field or clinical placements that have been cancelled, the College has not yet determined how these mandatory requirements will be completed. If you leave Ottawa, you may not be able to complete any mandatory co-op work-term, practicum, field or clinical placement

Students moving out are asked to complete the Move Out Checklist, which can be found online here or paper copies are available at the Front Desk.

Please ensure that your mailing address on file with both the Residence and College are up to date. This will ensure cheques mailed are sent to the appropriate address.

Learn more in our Residence FAQ.
