Rapid Antigen Testing Ottawa Campus

Algonquin College Health Services is offering Rapid Antigen Testing at its Ottawa Campus.

The tests are being offering at no cost ONLY TO College Community Members who are required to access campus AND have received approval for a bona fide exemption. The test being offered is a nasal swab. Effective September 13th, the policy requirement of 2 negative rapid antigen tests from 2 different days during the previous seven (7) days will be applied.

This is an asymptomatic test only. Health Services cannot use this test on anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19.

Before coming to campus to access a test, please familiarize yourself with the College’s Vaccination Policy and the process for providing your proof of vaccination. You can access that information here.

 

Please follow these instructions to in order to access a Rapid Antigen test at the Ottawa Campus

  • Please book an appointment by calling 613-727-4723 ext.7222
  • You must wear a mask at all times
  • With an appointment booked, please arrive at the C building, 1385 Woodroffe Avenue (main entrance), on the 1st floor and visit the Health Services Clinic.
  • You must self-screen using the Algonquin College Mobile Safety App – or you will need to fill out a paper copy of the self-screening questionnaire upon entrance. Self-screening must be complete before the test is administered.
  • Hours of operation: 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday
  • You must present a valid ID with your name and date of birth (health card, driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • Results will be obtained within 15-30 minutes after swab is completed. Chairs have been set up for you to wait for results.

If you receive a positive result, it is considered a ‘preliminary positive’ and you will not be allowed on campus. You must then arrange for a follow-up PCR test within 24 hours by contacting your local Public Health Unit and/or booking an appointment at a local COVID-19 Assessment Centre. The PCR test is needed to confirm diagnosis.
