Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship
In response to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, on April 6, 2022, the provincial government announced the creation of a $1.9 million Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship to support students attending Ontario’s publicly assisted colleges and universities. The scholarship will be awarded to individual students through their college or university based on merit and financial need beginning in September 2023.
There will be a total of four scholarships each valued at $10,000 awarded to Algonquin College students.
The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis using academic, financial need, and community engagement criteria. The scholarship program will prioritize eligibility for students impacted by the conflict in Ukraine first, followed by support for students impacted by other conflicts.
Eligibility Criteria
- Financial need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need by completing the application form.
- Academic achievement: A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for students who have completed at least one term of study at Algonquin College.
