On behalf of Algonquin College and the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), we are pleased to invite you to our third Future of Health and Wellness Speaker Series event on Thursday, February 25 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. located in the Restaurant International at Algonquin College’s Ottawa Campus.

If you ask our next speaker what our top wellness priority should be, he would tell you we must tackle growing inequality. Dr. Jeffrey Turnbull is Chief of Staff at The Ottawa Hospital, and has pursued an interest in poverty and its effect on health nationally and internationally.

During our February talk, Dr. Turnbull will discuss how the socio-economic cycle that plays a significant role in the health and health outcomes of Canadians; the challenges to the acute-care hospital, and how it can be re-born as part of a comprehensive health care network; and the need for a paradigm shift from institutionalized, provider-centered, acute care to a patient-centred, collaborative, integrated promotion of health and social equity.

Space is limited, so please RSVP today to reserve your spot for Thursday, February 25, at 7:30 a.m. in Restaurant International at Algonquin College. We look forward to seeing you there.
