In November 2024, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) made a number of policy changes that impact study permit holders inside Canada.

Algonquin College has created a series of tools to assist applicants to programs starting in Winter 2025 onwards to understand their study permit requirements and eligibility for a Post-Graduation Work Permit after future studies, in light of the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announcement of a new field of study requirement.
