Working On or Off Campus as an International Student

According to IRCC, you might not be authorized to work on or off campus if you are a part-time student.

Information about the eligibility to work on-campus is found here.
Information about the eligibility to work off-campus is found here.

Full-time Status

Students must stop working on or off campus as soon as their full-time status becomes part-time during a regular academic session (for instance, a student may begin a regular academic session on a full-time basis and become part-time during the same session as they drop courses). In this case, they are no longer authorized to undertake off-campus work.

Full-time Students with a Part-time Course Load in Their Final Academic Session

Students who have maintained full-time status for the duration of their program of study, and who only require a part-time course load in their final academic session in order to complete their program of study, may work off campus up to 20 hours per week during their final academic session.

Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

Information about the eligibility for the PGWP is found here.

Students must maintain their full-time student status during each academic session of the program or programs of study they complete and submit as part of their post-graduation work permit application. However, if a student meets all the eligibility requirements, with the exception of full-time status during their final academic session (that is, they have part-time status only in their final academic session), they are still considered eligible for the PGWP.
