Community of Practice: Get Real – Authentic Leadership

May 01, 2018 |11:30-13:00

Please join us for lunch and great discussion with your colleagues from across the College!

The Leadership Development for Women initiative hosts a number of Community of Practice events throughout the year. These are opportunities for College employees to collectively learn, share, and engage with colleagues about a variety of timely topics related to female leadership — all in a relaxed environment.

About this session: This Community of Practice is all about “authentic leadership” and features a panel session with four Algonquin employees who will be sharing their experiences as authentic leaders.

Authentic leadership is based on leaders who excel in open, honest communication and ethical decision making, and have strong self-awareness that influences how they make decisions. This style of leadership creates trust and fosters growth from a perspective of openness, due to the authentic nature of the relationships that develop in this type of environment.

Panellists:

  • Sarah Dehler, Sustainability Coordinator
  • Christine Kelsey, Assistive Technologist with the Centre for Accessible Learning and President of the Support Staff Union
  • Krista Pearson, Registrar
  • Kathryn Reilander, Professor and Coordinator of Electrical Engineering Technology

Register via the PD website under “PD Offerings 2018.”

We are always looking to add new voices to the mix, so please circulate this event to anyone who may be interested in attending!
