Community of Practice: Wellness in Leadership

Feb 12, 2018 |11:30-13:00

Please note, this Community of Practice was moved from January 31 to February 12.

Please join us for lunch and great discussion with your colleagues from across the College!

The Leadership Development for Women initiative hosts a number of Community of Practice events throughout the year. These are opportunities for College employees to collectively learn, share, and engage with colleagues about a variety of timely topics related to female leadership — all in a relaxed environment.

We’re always looking to add new voices to the mix, so please circulate this event to anyone who may be interested in attending!

Register via the PD website.

About this session: The new year is the perfect time to become grounded in the things that inspire us and step back to appreciate the broader context/big picture. It has been a hectic year and many people are redoubling efforts and focusing on task completion, minute by minute, and day-by-day. Sometimes the rush of the day-to-day keeps us focused on the small details or the “small picture” in order to get everything done, which — while necessary — often prevents us from remembering the big picture, or the motivating factors that make us do what we do. The joy and satisfaction that we take in our work depends on self-care and an appreciation for “the deepest context in which we hold it.” Please join your colleagues from across the College to focus on re-centring, healing, and finding gratitude for the things that inspire us in life and work, with an emphasis on self-care for the new year ahead.
