Perth: Students Win Annual Student/Alumni/Faculty Hockey Tournament

The Algonquin College Perth Campus Faculty bring passion and enthusiasm to the classroom. They care deeply about their students’ success and want to see them thrive – but all this all gets put aside when the faculty and students go head to head in the annual student/alumni/faculty hockey tournament, hosted by the Students’ Association.
Some say that this tournament is as intense as watching the Stanley cup! All jokes aside, this is a great day where faculty and students get to go head to head in a friendly competition and have some fun.
This year was the 6th year the tournament has been held and had a great turnout for both teams. The staff were able to gain some momentum after getting their first goal during a penalty shot. The students kept the faculty on their toes as the game continued to be a very close one but ultimately the students came out victorious with a 4-3 win.
At the end of the day though the score was arbitrary as everyone got to bond over a great dinner hosted by the SA. Until next year hockey fans!

Summer Cocktails Anyone?!

Bartending Coordinator Antonios Vitaliotis always has fun beverage concoctions to share. Between them, the bartending faculty and the students have a great collection of favourites for every season, holiday and festivity. And though they often create very cool and sometimes complicated molecular drinks, we thought that might be a little out of our area of expertise. We asked them instead to share a relatively simple summer cocktail recipe, one the average person could prepare and indulge in. This creation came up a top pick!
The bartending experts also highly recommend visiting the Yummly site (below) for all kinds of delicious ideas. Happy Summer!
