  • Indigenous Pedagogy and Curriculum. Algonquin College’s Learning & Teaching Services (LTS) provides professional development, curricular support, and resources to integrate Indigenous perspectives into teaching and learning. These supports help faculty foster inclusive pedagogical practices that reflect Indigenous ways of knowing and diverse subject matters.
  • Best Practices in Aboriginal Community Development (Wesley-Esquimaux & Calliou, 2010). These guidelines emphasize the importance of a wise practices approach that respects Indigenous knowledge, cultural identity, and self-determined development. By prioritizing community-driven strategies, collaborative relationships, and culturally grounded leadership, they ensure that initiatives are meaningful, sustainable, and responsive to Indigenous communities’ unique needs.
  • Incorporating a Holistic Framework in Online Curriculum Development. The interactive content utilizes the Medicine Wheel framework to guide curriculum development, emphasizing the integration of emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual aspects in teaching and learning.
  • Pulling Together: Professional Learning Series is a six volume resource co-created by BCcampus. These guides, authored by teams of Indigenous and ally writers from across what is now known as British Columbia, are living resources that can be adapted and localized, offering instruction and best practices that post-secondary institutions can use to decolonize and Indigenize.
  • First Peoples Principles of Learning. Describes a set of learning principles specific to First Peoples, articulated by Indigenous Elders, scholars, and knowledge keepers. The principles emphasize holistic, experiential, and relational learning, recognizing the interconnectedness of knowledge, community, and the land. They highlight the importance of learning as a lifelong, generational process, where knowledge is sacred, shared with permission, and tied to responsibility and reciprocity.
