Devices Required For This Program

As of September 2024, the following are the approved options of the required MacBook Pro.

Required Laptop – MacBook Pro

You can use either a new or refurbished MacBook Pro as long as it meets the following requirements. As you will be doing nearly all of your coursework on this computer and will probably be using it professionally after graduation, we recommend investing as much as you can afford in this MacBook Pro, as well as paying for the AppleCare warranty.

Processor: M1-Pro, M1-Max, M2-Pro, M2-Max, M3-Pro, or M3-Max chips.

Unified Memory (RAM): 16GB or higher.

Storage: 512GB or higher. (1TB recommended)

Screen size: 14 inch or higher.

The older Intel-based MacBook Pro models are NO LONGER SUPPORTED.

The 13-inch screen models ARE NOT SUPPORTED.

The MacBook Air models ARE NOT SUPPORTED.

Whichever option you choose, we HIGHLY recommend that you pay for the Apple Care warranty on your MacBook Pro to cover the two years of the program. We have seen this save many students hundreds of dollars on repairs to items like screens and keyboards.
