Posted on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026
OTTAWA, ON (June 9, 2026) – Algonquin College’s Animation program has once again been recognized among the best in the country, earning the top ranking in Ontario and fifth place nationally in Animation Career Review’s 2026 rankings of Canada’s leading, non-degree animation training programs.
The annual rankings evaluate professional animation programs across Canada using criteria such as academic reputation, graduate employment outcomes, program depth, graduation rates and industry value.
Algonquin College’s three-year Animation advanced diploma program continues to build a reputation for excellence by combining hands-on learning, industry-informed instruction and state-of-the-art production facilities. The program is supported by faculty with experience at leading studios and companies including Disney, Warner Bros. Animation, Sony and Ubisoft.
“This recognition reflects the exceptional talent, dedication and creativity of our learners, faculty, support staff and alumni,” said Julie Beauchamp, Senior Vice President, Academic at Algonquin College. “Being ranked first in Ontario and among the top five animation programs in Canada is a testament to the strength of our program and the impact our graduates are making in the animation industry.”
Animation Career Review highlighted Algonquin College’s pathway into animation, through the Drawing Foundations certificate program. The publication also noted the success of Algonquin graduates, who have gone on to careers with organizations such as Disney Animation, Industrial Light & Magic, Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Animation, Pixar, Mercury Filmworks, Atomic Cartoons and Guru Studio.
The recognition comes as skilled animation professionals are finding opportunities across creative industries in areas such as film, television, streaming video, gaming, simulation design, visual effects, extended reality and other emerging digital media sectors.
Algonquin College is accepting applicants to this and other programs for upcoming academic terms.
