FIELD PLACEMENT:
The final requirement of the ECE Administration part-time graduate certificate program is the Fieldwork course. This course is designed to provide you with an opportunity to apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that you have learned throughout the prerequisite courses in a project-based capstone.

The ECE Admin Fieldwork course is not a traditional placement. The majority of students complete the course in their current positions while following the director or site supervisor as a mentor. It is project-based and allows students to focus on the role of an ECE Administrator in the context of their current position. The course is not organized by weeks or hours to be completed, but by modules that must be completed within the learning management system while working collaboratively with a mentor in the field.

Extensions will not be granted. More information in this regard is available on the website for successful applicants. Some field placement agencies may require the Hepatitis B vaccine and the Influenza vaccine.

VUNERABLE SECTOR CHECK DOCUMENTATION:
Successful completion of field placement is a requirement for graduation from the Early Childhood Education Administration program. Agencies that provide placement opportunities may require you to have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check Level 3 (VSC). Your acceptance for placement is at the discretion of the agency. If you register in the program without a clear PRCSVS and as a result are unable to participate in placement, you will not be able to graduate. You will be required to disclose the contents of the VSC, including all notations, to the placement agencies.

It is your responsibility to obtain the VSC from your local Police Department prior to the deadline identified by your Department and to pay any associated costs. It may take 8-12 weeks to obtain this documentation; please submit your application as early as possible. Should you require further information, contact the Program Academic Manager.

ACADEMIC PLANNER
The Academic Planner provides registered part-time students the ability to declare into a program of study. The Academic Planner outlines successfully completed courses to date, as well as courses that need to be completed in order to meet graduation requirements. It is therefore, essential that all part-time students declare to their program of study, allowing administrators to plan course offerings. The tool is available on ACSIS, located under 'Part-time Studies' on the left-hand toolbar.

PROGRAM PROGRESSION:
As per policy AA39:
Program Progression and Graduation Requirements, when students are admitted to a program, they are assigned to the Program of Study that aligns with their start date. If a student takes a break for two or more consecutive terms the Program of Study is reset to align with the current version (when studies are resumed).
