Degree Discovery Event – Event Tips
Here are some tips to help you take full advantage of the event:
- Arrive as close to 5:00 p.m. as possible to give yourself the full time to experience it all. Tours and the panel have limited spots available, and program tables and our application station will likely have a waiting period, so prioritize what is most important to you first.
- Chat with faculty and staff at degree program and student services tables. Get your questions answered.
- Take a tour. Tours start at 4:30 p.m. and run every 15 minutes, with the last one leaving at 6:45 p.m. Tours generally take about 45 minutes to complete.
- Attend the Student/Alumni Panel. Plan to be seated by 5:45 p.m. as we will likely need to escort some folks to an overflow room before starting at 6:00 p.m. Both rooms will be able to participate live. There is still limited seating across both spaces and seats will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The panel is your chance to hear first-hand about our degrees from students and graduates.
- If you miss the live panel, the recording will be shared with all registered attendees via email after the event and posted to our event website.
- Thinking of applying at the event? Complete these two steps before you arrive:
- Head to ontariocolleges.ca to create your account and fill in your profile. Click “Apply Now” and activate your account through their email verification link. DO NOT create more than one account.
- Check to make sure you meet the admission requirements for your program(s) of interest (of course, we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about that on site). Find requirements on the program’s webpage. Review degree programs.
- Apply to Algonquin College degree programs on ontariocolleges.ca for FREE at the event. Eligibility is for new degree applications only. The collaborative degrees offered in partnership with Carleton University and the University of Ottawa require application on the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre and are not eligible.
