Rules & Regulations

Any person who wishes to use a locker must pay the locker rental fees. All locker usage is monitored on a regular basis. Locker regulations apply to all occupants. The rental of a locker constitutes an agreement, on the part on the registering client, to abide by and follow the regulations as enforced by Algonquin College.

Lockers are provided at a cost to all registered students.

The client agrees to only occupy the locker that is assigned to them at the point of sale and only until the specified expiry date. Lockers may not be transferred to other students without the authorization of Locker Services. Students may only rent one locker at a time. Students who withdraw from the College or fail to register for the following semester, forfeit the use of a locker.

PLEASE NOTE: you must vacate your locker upon the day of withdrawal from the Registrar’s Office

In the event of unpaid and/or illegal occupancy, or occupancy past the expiry date, the locker will be opened, the contents removed, and the contents will be placed in storage. The contents will be retained for no more than 30 days. An administration fee of $25 will be levied for the release of locker contents. Any liquids, chemicals or perishable items collected will not be stored. After this time the contents will be disposed of as per College policy.

Students at the Ottawa Campus who are registered with the Centre for Students with Disabilities and have specific locker needs are required to identify themselves to Locker Services by email at lockers@algonquincollege.com.

Students withdrawing from programs past the refund date (ten days past the beginning of the semester) will have their locker returned to inventory for re-issuance.

In the event of a discrepancy between information posted on locker stickers placed inside the locker and information posted on the website, the website information is up to date and will be considered valid over sticker information.

Algonquin College reserves the right to enter a locker or cancel the locker rental agreement and remove the lock and contents of an occupant:

  • If the safety or security of the College becomes in question
  • In the event of a structural emergency (e.g. broken pipes or electrical repairs) or other such instances
  • Due to a failure to follow locker regulations
  • Or at any time the College deems necessary with just cause and managerial approval.

Algonquin College is private property. All locker usage is strictly by permission only. Algonquin College assumes no responsibility whatsoever for the safety of items left in lockers at any time.

Algonquin College reserves the right to:

  • Manage locker activity through enforcement of locker regulations
  • Terminate access to any person(s)
  • Restrict access to any locker for emergencies or other purposes
  • Transfer locker assignments as required
