Saturday, August 29 – Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament

All students who enjoy golfing are invited to participate in the annual Algonquin College Alumni and Friends golf tournament on Saturday, August 29 aPhoto of AC Golf Ballt the Island Brae Golf Club.  This is a great opportunity for new and returning students to make a connection with alumni who are working in their field. The cost to participate is $75 per player and includes 9 holes of golf, dinner and prizes for all participants.

Thursday, Sept. 4 to Friday, Sept 5. – Canadian Fiddle & Stepdance Championship

The Canadian Fiddle and Stepdance Championship is a premier Labour Day weekend event held in Pembroke, Ontario. The competition takes place at Festival Hall at L’Équinoxe, with weekend camping and informal jams hosted at the nearby Fiddle Park. Learn more here.

Algonquin College students and their supporters are invited to join us for a free BBQ as the City of Pembroke welcomes you to our campus and broader community.

Saturday, September 5 – Ottawa River Boat Cruise

Join us on Saturday, September 5 for an incredible pontoon boat cruise with Owl Rafting on the Ottawa River. This activity is open to incoming Algonquin College Pembroke students beginning their studies in September 2026. 

Cost per student – $20 

In order to secure your spot on the cruise, you must complete both the registration form and payment on the Algonquin College Pembroke payment portal. Alternatively, you may complete the form and pay your fee in person at the Pembroke Campus in the main office (room 131). The Fees Desk is open Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

 

9:30 a.m – Arrival and board bus at Pembroke Campus roundabout.. 

10:30 a.m. Arrive at OWL Rafting

10:45 a.m. Board the pontoon boat for a 1.5 hour cruise on the Ottawa River

12:15 p.m. Return to Owl Rafting

12:30 p.m. Depart on bus back to campus

Approx 1:15 p.m. Arrive back to campus.
