Job Description

Responsible for all aspects of sales staff including: talent scouting, interviewing, onboarding/ training, scheduling, communication, support, discipline, and resolving issues as they arise.
All aspects of CSA ( community supported agriculture) programs (winter and summer) including: constructing Farmigo platform, marketing, social media networking, planning, launching, preparing boxes, paperwork, distribution, collection of payments, client feedback, customer questions/complaints and resolve issues as they arise.
Farm Stands and Farmers’ Markets: ensuring there are staff trained to run them, ensuring money floats are prepared daily in season, deconstructing and reviewing stand boards daily, ensuring staff are supported in running designated sales booths. Creating price cards,
Planning crops: working with the owners to, order/purchasing seeds, update and maintain greenhouse planting spreadsheet, create GH planting schedule, updating harvest calendars, communication with seed sales reps, ordering and purchasing strawberry plants.
Snow routes and clients: sending contracts, collecting payments, sending email reminders, marketing/ advertising, orchestrating marking of laneways, marking laneways, hiring operators, organizing and restocking tool totes for tractors, being a backup operator when one of our snow removal operators is away.
Inventorying products: chemicals, packaging supplies, seeds, and others.
Ordering products: cheese, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, pies, seeds, packaging, office supplies, traceability supplies, finding distributors, communicating with distributors, aid in setting prices on resale products and repackaging products when needed.
Grant writing: Canada summer jobs and others as needed.
Assist in writing government applications for LMIA for SAWP workers, TFW.
Insurance: ensuring vehicles are taken off the road in a timely manner, reinstating insurance when needed, reviewing insurance policies for accuracy and communicating with insurance providers on any issues.
Farmers Markets: collect online market orders, plan items to go to market, assign jobs to other staff to aid in packing markets and pack market items for delivery trucks.
Canada Gap certification: ensuring all paperwork is completed including; chemical records, visitor records, trucking records, field sheets, traceability, equipment maintenance, washroom tracking sheet and all other forms in book. With Mel, meet with auditor, complete corrective actions if any and water testing twice yearly.
Chemicals: inventorying chemicals, creating/ maintaining a spreadsheet for all chemicals on the farm and used on the farm. Sheet to explain their class, pest control, group rating and what amounts we have in stock. Knowing how many chemicals we use on the farm, ordering correct chemicals, researching new chemicals, reviewing government websites for assistance on chemicals to utilize and reviewing spray books to better understand chemicals used on the farm.
Marketing: contact past clients about upcoming sales, design and order new marketing tools as needed, manage Facebook account, manage Instagram account and manage newsletter on mail chimp.
Social media marketing: coming up with content to post, utilizing Canva ( creative platform) to make content more attractive, scheduling posts and interacting with followers.
Local line: upload products to the platform, monitor platform to ensure all uploaded products are available, create descriptions and pictures individualized to each product.
Billing: Utilizing quick books to construct and send snow customers bills for products and services. Also to be utilized for farm customers.
Computer and software: proficient in Microsoft office, google sheets, docs and other google platforms. Ability to use QuickBooks.
