Getting into college is confusing! How will you get there? Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Follow this step-by-step guide.

International applicants apply directly to Algonquin through the Algonquin College International Application Portal.

AC Online applicants for full-time programs should follow the steps below. So should part-time applicants for the Military Arts and Science and the Bachelor of Business Administration (Trades Management) programs. All other applicants interested in part-time AC Online programs can learn how to apply and register on the Part-time AC Online Admissions page.

    We continue to accept applications for open and waitlisted programs until the start of classes so make sure there are spaces available. For the most up-to-date information on programs with spaces available, visit the Algonquin College page at ontariocolleges.ca or browse our program availability chart. We’ve made some changes to Program Delivery to make our programs more flexible. Make sure you know how your program will unfold by looking through our Program Delivery page.

Visit ontariocolleges.ca and create a profile. You can apply to as many as three programs from Algonquin, so make sure you know what programs you’d like. Need more info? We can help.

Step 3: Track your Application

Track your application

Track your application using the Algonquin College Student Information System, otherwise known as ACSIS. Don’t forget to keep an eye on your email for important updates. We’ll send you an email to let you know we’ve received your application, it contains your shiny Algonquin College Student Number!!!

How to Track your Application (step by step)

  1. Log in to ACSIS, using your student number (found on your admissions emails) click on ‘View Application Status’ under ‘Programs’.
  2. Select the term for which you applied. If we need anything from you, it will be listed here.
  3. Submit your official transcript and important documents to OntarioColleges.ca. Find out how.

Keep your eyes peeled!

You may receive important admissions emails after you apply. Look for admissions@algonquincollege.com. Be sure to keep your contact information up-to-date on ontariocolleges.ca and on ACSIS so you don’t miss out on important information related to your application.

 

Admission Requirements

Each program will have its own requirements. These can range from completing certain high school subject classes with a minimum grade, to the submission of portfolios or even writing an assessment. You must submit all the requirements for your application to advance. Please read all the information on the webpage of your program of choice to ensure you are able to satisfy all requirements.

Meeting the admissions requirements lets us know you are ready to start your college journey. All the College, Program and Assessment requirements are featured on the program page. Read through your program page of choice carefully to ensure that you meet the requirements. Some programs have additional Admission requirements, they can be found here.

If you are unsure if you have any outstanding Admission Requirements to submit please log in to ACSIS using your student number (found on all admissions emails) and check under ‘View Application Status’.

Admissions Assessment

If your admissions journey includes an assessment, you will receive an invitation via email. Not sure if you need an assessment? Log on to ACSIS and check under your ‘Application Status’. You can book your assessment on ACSIS too! Prep with practice material for most assessments from the Test Centre.

Note: If you’d like someone else to call or email about Admissions related matters, you’ll need to fill out and submit our Release of Student Information Form on ACSIS so we are able to keep them in the loop.

Step 5: Confirm on ontariocolleges.ca

Confirm your Offer!

  1. Go to ontariocolleges.ca.
  2. Log into your ontariocolleges.ca account.
  3. Click on ‘View Offers’ to see your offer(s) of admission.
  4. Select the offer of admission you wish to accept.
  5. Click ‘Confirm’.

Important Dates for Confirmation

May 1 – Confirmation Deadline

Confirm your Offer of Admission before May 1 to save your seat in the program. Confirmations made after May 1 will be accepted if space is available in the program. Confirm your Offer of Admission at ontariocolleges.ca.
Applying after May 1? Your confirmation deadline will be featured in your Offer email.

Algonquins Open House gives you the chance to come and meet with Faculty, see the facilities and speak with current students to find out what they think of the program. Explore the campus and see what makes us unique.

Step 6: Pay Your Fees

Tuition Deposit

In order to save your seat in the program, you will need to make a $500 non-refundable tuition deposit. The easiest way to do that is online banking:

  1. Log onto your bank’s website.
  2. Add ‘Algonquin College’ as a bill payee.
  3. Use your student number (featured on your acceptance letter) as the account number.

Spring – March 1

Step 7: Next Steps

Send any outstanding Admission Requirements

Have you submitted all your remaining Admission Requirements? All outstanding documents must be submitted by the deadline, otherwise, we may cancel your Offer. Submit remaining Admission Requirements to ontariocolleges.ca.

 

Transfer Credits/Exemptions/PLAR

If you are transferring from another post-secondary institution or from a program in Algonquin you may qualify for transfer credits. Learn more about your transfer options.

AC Start gives you (plus parents/families/spouses) a chance to prepare yourself prior to the first day of school, so that you can get a head start on the information and tools that will set you up for success.
