Below is a variety of resources for those looking to either reduce or quit tobacco use.

Students

  • Have a confidential, private session with a member of the Health Services team to discover the cessation options available. Visit Health Services (C141) to schedule an appointment OR call (613) 727-4723 ext.7222.
    • Sessions are also available to friends and family members who are concerned with a loved one’s use.
  • The Health Promotion Team within Health Services also provides smoking cessation programming in partnership with Ottawa Public Health, visit Health Services (C141) OR call (613) 727-4723 to inquire about available resources.

Employees

  • TELUS Health Telephonic Smoking Cessation Program.
  • Employees can use their AC e-mail and password to access the employee portal through single-sign-on to took take advantage of the Tobacco and Nicotine Cessation Toolkit.
  • Contact the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). EFAP is a confidential and voluntary support service that can help you find solutions to all kinds of challenges regarding work, your health or life in general.

  • Ottawa Public Health
    • Ottawa Public Health has a variety of resources to support smoking cessation including one on one counselling, digital tools and support group meetings.
  • Ottawa Hospital
    • The Quit Smoking Program (QSP) is a nurse-led clinic that provides you with one-on-one support during your attempt to quit. The program provides a non-judgmental and supportive environment where a “quit plan” is tailored to meet your individual needs. Anyone may self-refer to the program, or be referred by a healthcare provider. The cost is covered by OHIP.
