AC Always Connected: Gut Health 101

Jun 15, 2020 |12:00PM-1:00PM

AC Always Connected is a new online event series that keeps our entire Algonquin College community connected. Tune in for live virtual events and help support our local businesses and connect with our College community.

What’s this “gut health” thing everyone is talking about? We have the answers! The health of your gut plays an important role in your overall health. When your gut isn’t functioning optimally, it can lead to various health problems, including poor (and painful) digestion, extra weight, chronic inflammation, allergies, autoimmune disorders, anxiety and depression.

Certified Health Coach Tara Ryan will explain what gut health is, why it’s so important, and what the benefits are. Tara will speak about which foods benefit, nourish, and heal your gut, and which foods are detrimental to the health of your gut. She will also dive into certain lifestyle factors and habits that may also be affecting your gut health.

Open to all Algonquin College students, employees, and alumni. Advance registration is required.

You will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

About Tara Ryan

Tara practices a holistic approach to health and wellness. She looks at how all parts of our lives affect our health. Her goal as a Certified Health Coach is to take away the overwhelming feeling of making healthy changes, and to show people that being healthy doesn’t have to be hard! Tara helps clients master the mindset of healthy living by exploring what limiting beliefs and daily habits might be holding them back.

There is no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to food. Therefore, Tara educates her clients on the various dietary choices available and helps them figure out which foods make them look and feel their best. Adopting healthy habits is the best and most sustainable way to achieve great health, and this approach helps achieve optimal weight, improve digestion, have more energy, feel better in their body, and increase their overall happiness!
