Who else couldn’t stop watching Algonquin College Alumni, Imrun Texeira represent Ottawa as a contestant on Season 8 of the Food Network’s, Top Chef Canada? The AC community is getting the inside scoop from Imrun himself. Come chat with Imrun and find out what it was really like to be a contestant on Top Chef Canada. We are so proud of what Imrun has achieved.

About Imrun Texeira
Not many 17-year-olds can say they’ve cooked breakfast for Oprah Winfrey. For Imrun Texeira, cooking for Oprah when he was a teenager has been the icing on the cake for a short but impressive career in the culinary industry.
Since graduating from the Culinary Apprenticeship program at Algonquin College in 2014, Imrun has travelled around the United Kingdom, talking his way into interning at top Michelin star restaurants. Upon returning to Ottawa, Imrun landed his dream job working at the Atelier Restaurant. In early 2016, he competed against his brother on the Food Network’s Chopped Canada.
Imrun was nominated for College Ontario’s 2016 Premier’s Award, which recognizes the outstanding contributions Ontario college graduates make to Ontario and throughout the world. A former sous chef at renowned Ottawa restaurant, Stofa, one of Canada’s Top 100 Restaurants, and an accomplished contestant on Food Network’s Top Chef Canada, Imrun continues to conquer the culinary scene in Toronto.
