Community Project: AC Day 1 edition
May 06, 2019 |13:00-14:00
Please note: Our AC Day 1 Community Project at Big Sky Ranch Animal Santuary has been cancelled and will be rescheduled to a future date.
Join us in the AC Hub for an on-campus AC Day 1 Community Project in support of The Ottawa Mission from 1pm to 2pm!
Big Sky Ranch Animal Sanctuary was established in 2002. Originally a hobby farm, Big Sky Ranch became known as a “safe haven” for animals and an opportunity for them to recover from their past lives or professions, while restoring their trust in humans. The ranch helps rehabilitate abused or injured animals as well as takes in any unwanted animals. Big Sky Ranch is a non-profit charitable organization that is completely run by volunteers – there is no paid staff.
At this special AC Day 1 activity, new Algonquin College students will get a hands-on introduction to Community Projects as they volunteer together with returning students.
Typical tasks include feeding, watering, cleaning pens, giving the animals love, and general maintenance. All who love animals and want to help care for them are welcome. No experience is necessary. Participants are asked to dress for the weather, as this activity will take place outside. Closed-toe shoes are a requirement.
Space is limited, as there is a 20-person maximum.
Please note: This project is not wheelchair accessible.
Transportation is provided. Please meet at the AC Hub (2nd floor, Student Commons) for 1pm (you will return to campus at 5pm).
