Food & Wine Pairing Workshop

Expand your palate and gain new knowledge at this educational food and wine workshop. Chef Dee Carruthers from Deelicious Eats will walk you through a 3-course cooking demo, while Sommelier Joey Krueger pairs each course with an expertly-selected bottle of wine.

This culinary experience begins at 6:00pm. Feel like following along? The ingredients and wine lists will be provided after you register, in case you wish to purchase these items in advance. (You must be at least 19 years of age to purchase, possess, or consume alcohol.) Please note, you do not need to have the food and wine on hand to participate, and wine tasting is not required — just watch, learn, and enjoy!
This event is open to Algonquin College students, alumni, and employees.

About Chef Dee Carruthers
Dee Carruthers of Deelicious Eats is a recipe developer and food stylist living in Toronto. Although Dee graduated from business school at Western University, three years ago she decided to follow her passion for food and totally switched careers. Dee has a culinary degree from George Brown College, and has perfected her skills cooking in one of Toronto’s top restaurants, Richmond Station. For the past year, Dee has been working in the test kitchen at THP, a Toronto based agency developing food content and media for major brands. When Dee is not in the test kitchen at work, she is usually at home in her own kitchen developing recipes and sharing photos on her Instagram and website deeliciouseats.com! Dee is excited to cook with us and share some tips and tricks for making Deelicious food and taking drool-worthy pics!

About Joey Krueger
Joey Krueger is a hospitality and wine industry professional with over 20 years of international experience across a broad spectrum of the food and beverage world. Her experience ranges from boutique wineries to luxury brands, exotic destination cruising to contemporary regional dining. Moving to the Okanagan valley in 2015, Joey joined Mission Hill Family Estate as Head Sommelier and relished the opportunity to team with one of Canada’s most iconic wine brands. Joey’s passion for food, wine, spirits, and travel spurred her to undertake the WSET Diploma and is proud to have completed the program in 2019. Joey holds a degree in Communications from Humber College, is a French Wine Scholar, and is fluent in French. She is thrilled to be a part of the hospitality world and is keen to share her passion.
