I Believe You Day

Sep 16, 2020

Take part in #IBelieveYou to show your support for survivors of sexual assault. On September 16, Algonquin College will partner with post-secondary campuses across Ontario to stand with survivors and send an important message: when a survivor discloses, we start by believing.

3 Ways to Participate:

  • Share a message of support or a selfie on social media using the hashtag #IBelieveYou on September 16th
  • Nominate other departments and student groups to get involved
  • On September 16th, tell us why it is important to believe survivors of sexual violence on our Instagram Story for your chance to receive an #IBelieveYou t-shirt.

All students and employees are invited to join in this movement and continue making our campus community a safe space for survivors to disclose and seek support. Prizes are eligible for participation on social media.

About #IBelieveYou:

The #IBelieveYou campaign was created five years ago by the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services and has taken hold in campuses and communities across Alberta, reaching nearly 50 million people online, changing attitudes and behaviour. This year marks Algonquin College’s 4th year participating in the campaign.
