I Believe You Day
Sep 21, 2022 |10:30am-2:30pm
Take part in #IBelieveYou Day to show your support for survivors of sexual assault. On September 21, Project Lighthouse will be setting up a photo booth on campus in the AC Hub (2nd floor Student Commons) to bring awareness and send an important message: When a survivor discloses, we start by believing.
All students and employees are invited to join in this movement and continue making our campus community a safe space for survivors to disclose and seek support.
About #IBelieveYou:
The #IBelieveYou campaign is new to Ontario and Algonquin College. It was created five years ago by the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services and has taken hold in campuses and communities across Alberta, reaching nearly 50 million people online, changing attitudes and behaviour.
About Project Lighthouse:
Project Lighthouse aims to shine light on the topic of sexual violence and help students navigate healthy sexual relationships. Through compassion, education, and awareness, this initiative aims to reduce sexual violence at Algonquin College and support survivors of sexual violence. See the full list of sexual violence prevention events that Project Lighthouse is hosting during the first six weeks of school.
