#IBelieveYou Day
Sep 19, 2023 |11:00am-2:00pm
Take part in #IBelieveYou Day to show your support for survivors of sexual assault. On September 19, Project Lighthouse will be setting up a photo booth outside of Connections: The Campus Store (1st Floor, H Building) to bring awareness and send an important message: When a survivor discloses, we start by believing.
All students and employees are invited to join in this movement and continue making our campus community a safe space for survivors to disclose and seek support. No registration is required.
About #IBelieveYou:
The #IBelieveYou campaign was created by the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services and has taken hold in campuses and communities across Alberta, reaching nearly 50 million people online, changing attitudes and behaviour.
About Project Lighthouse:
Project Lighthouse aims to shine light on the topic of sexual violence and help students navigate healthy sexual relationships. Through compassion, education, and awareness, this initiative aims to reduce sexual violence at Algonquin College and support survivors of sexual violence. See the full list of sexual violence prevention events that Project Lighthouse is hosting during the first six weeks of school.
