Volunteer Week: Cards for Kindness

Apr 22, 2021 |3:00PM-4:00PM

Celebrate National Volunteer Week in Canada by writing kind cards for residents of St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa Long Term Care Home in this one-hour virtual workshop with the Algonquin College community! Students and employees will write words of kindness and support, which will be accompanied by seed paper so that the residents can grow wildflowers in their rooms.

Participants will be shipped materials for this project in advance (cards, pens, scissors, seed paper, and envelopes with shipping included). Participants must live in Canada to receive the materials.

This activity will be co-hosted by Sarah Crawford, Sexual Violence and Harm Reduction Coordinator, and Project In-Kind. Participants will have the opportunity to “pay it forward” at this workshop while learning about this campus partnership.

Open to all Algonquin College students and employees. Register by Wednesday, April 14th, to receive the materials. You can still register before and after this date to participate in the event without the materials.

After you register, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
