Student Experience
Build on your ECE knowledge
The Early Childhood Education Intensive program at Algonquin College is a 35-week program for students that have previous post secondary education in a related field of study and a minimum of 300 hours work experience with groups of children. The program prepares students to become educators of young children in a variety of early learning settings.

Combines theory and practical skills
The program provides students with a combination of theoretical, play-based curriculum, and practice teaching placements. These placements enable the students to get a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Early Childhood Educators within the work environment. Students also have access to the on-campus Early Learning Centre Lab, where they can use their in-person observations to complement their classroom learning.
