This program provides a good foundation for students who are interested in sports, fitness, recreation, leisure and special events to work in the recreation industry. Students receive training in recreation programming for various age groups, therapeutic recreation, marketing, computers, human development, trends, risk management and other subjects used by recreation professionals.

Successful graduates of this program enter the professional setting with confidence, knowing they have the skills to help people be active and make the most of their leisure activities.

Active, Real-World Training

Careers in recreation are active and at Algonquin College that’s how we believe they should be taught. Students in this program participate in Field Placements in real Recreation and Leisure employment settings.
