Introduction to Bellydance
Nov 03, 2010 |09:00-10:00
In this workshop you will be introduced to some of the famous isolations that you have seen when a belly dancer performs. Those mysterious snake-like undulations will no longer be her secret alone. Actually belly dance has become a popular fitness alternative because of the particular muscle isolations and dance oriented movements that we learn. Some of the basic moves you will experience are the ever popular and sinewy figure eight and the seemingly jiggly hip shimmy. Graceful arms and smooth undulations will also be explored. If time permits, an introduction to the veil will be given; this very expressive prop is a favorite. Lively music will be enjoyed and a new appreciation for rhythms and dance will be experienced.
