Claude Ouimet photoClaude Ouimet is the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Interface, in Canada and Latin America. Claude’s 23-year career with the company includes roles in both manufacturing and sales.

Interface is deeply immersed in a mission to become a sustainable corporation by leading a worldwide effort to design sustainable manufacturing and development processes by the year 2020. Claude’s mix of manufacturing, sales and marketing knowledge gives him a unique perspective for integrating sustainability throughout the Interface corporate culture. He brings his passion for environmentally-sound practices not only to manufacturing technology and practices, but also to sales strategies and marketing concepts that reflect the company’s eco mission. Claude considers how to green a company from two perspectives: The Mechanical part of Sustainability, and the softer side of sustainability which relates more to culture. In April of 2007, Claude became certified as a ‘Climate Project’ presenter, which qualifies him to share Mr. Al Gore’s powerful and inspirational message. Since 2007, Claude has given more than 170 sustainability related presentations.

In December of 2007, Mr. Fabio Barbosa, President of Grupo Santander, the largest and most influential bank in all of Brazil, invited Claude to become a member of their Sustainability Consultative Board. As such, Claude is one of the Board’s honored members recognized for his promotion of Sustainability throughout Brazil, and has the opportunity to share experiences with other board members and to demonstrate how the principles of sustainable development can be applied in day-to-day business activities.

In July, 2009, Claude joined the National Business Advisory Council of the David Suzuki Foundation in Canada. The David Suzuki Foundation’s mission is: “To protect the diversity of nature and our quality of life, now and for the future”.

In February, 2010, Claude was nominated and approved to join The Natural Step Canada Board. The objective of this organization is to “help communities and businesses take meaningful steps toward sustainability”.

Prior to joining Interface, Claude worked for companies including Peerless Corporation, DomtarArborite and American Biltrite (AMTICO). A native of Montreal, Quebec, Claude now lives in Newnan, GA with his wife, Anne and two daughters, Shanie and Thalia.
