"Business, Government and Communities - Partnerships for Shared Value"

Gerald Bresnick will present a perspective on the concept of shared value - new emerging relationships between business, government and communities. In the present economic climate it has become impossible for any single entity to fulfill the expectations and demands of a growing world population, and business is once again being asked to take on a greater role. A new paradigm is emerging in which business, government and communities must work together on shared solutions. Leading businesses have recognized that a win-win solution is possible if social responsibility is viewed not as a stand-alone solution to specific problems but as part of an overall joint value creation strategy which advances the core business and creates mutual benefits for society. This would be focused on the energy industry but will have applicability to other industrial segments.
