Each new term may present its own academic challenges. We want you to succeed! Student Support Services offers a variety of resources to help students excel during their time at Algonquin College. Whether it’s your first-term or you are close to graduating, check out these supports to help you achieve your goals!

ASPIRE AC

If you are worried that college is not for you, or if you’re having doubts about succeeding – think again! You can do it and ASPIRE AC is here to support you. Learn about services available for students who are facing multiple challenges to their success in College.

 

Services include:

  • Student mentors
  • Sponsored peer tutoring
  • Job coaching
  • Skills and strengths assessments, and more!

Academic Accommodations (CAL)

If you are a student with a disability, or suspect that you may have a disability, you should register with the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) to find out whether you may obtain academic accommodations. The accommodations you can receive are intended to equalize the opportunity of students in meeting essential program and/or course requirements. The accommodations will be based on your specific disability-related academic needs.

Student Success Specialists

Student Success Specialists are here to assist you, address your concerns, and help you find answers. They can help you with resources and referrals and provide guidance to assist with your learning success. Study Skills Support

Learning how to study in a way that works for you is key to your success as a student. Support for study skills is offered through online modules or in-person workshop, to accommodate a variety of student’s needs.

Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring Services matches students who are experiencing difficulties in a course with trained student tutors for one-on-one tutoring. The service is designed to help students with course-specific difficulties.

This service is available to all Algonquin College students, and they are located in Room C259, on the second floor of the DARE District.

Presentation Studio

They say practice makes perfect! Rehearse and record your presentations with multimedia equipment and a movable green wall to suit a variety of presentation needs. The Presentation Studio is located on the second floor of the DARE District.
