Official Launch – Health and Wellness Research Centre

The Distinguished Speaker Series which took place on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 was an official launch of the Applied Research & Innovation’s new Health and Wellness Research Centre.
It displayed engaged, faculty and students in the emerging field of medical technology by bringing to campus inspirational leaders from around the globe. The event featured guest speaker Lane Desborough, Product Strategist Diabetes from Medtronic Inc., one of the world’s leading medical technology innovators. Lane spoke on the topic of “Technology and Innovation: Reducing the Burden of Diabetes”.
This was a very successful event and helped educate all who attended not only about the Heath and Wellness Research Centre but also displayed a more in-depth explanation of what the Applied Research & Innovation Department does to help today’s students with taking our learning system and advancing it that much further to an on-hands learning as well.
