Stress and Resilience

Harnessing Wearable Technology and Machine Learning for First Responders at Algonquin College

This project was supported by the Canadian Safety and Security Program, a federal initiative led by Defence Research and Development Canada’s Centre for Security Science in partnership with Public Safety Canada.

The Micro-net is a multidisciplinary team composed of eleven partner organizations and institutions, collectively referred to as the Micro-net Members.

The study’s data analytics and machine learning algorithms are designed to drive continuous improvement within emergency response organizations by supporting operational optimization. The project aims to establish integrated, ongoing data collection on stress and resilience, enabling adoption across emergency services and training institutions. This integration strengthens resilience-focused interventions and contributes to the development of a stress‑cognizant, evidence‑based model.
