President’s Star Awarded to Diana McGlinchey, principal investigator, Victimology Research Centre

On Monday, June 22, President and CEO Claude Brulé presented the President’s Star Award to Diana McGlinchey, principal investigator, Victimology Research Centre.

The President’s Star Award is given to employees who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their role within the College community; regularly and consistently demonstrate outstanding service; and truly embody our shared commitment to student success and the College’s values of Caring, Learning, Integrity and Respect.

Diana McGlinchey, principal investigator of the Victimology Research Centre, received the President’s Star Award in recognition of her exceptional leadership, research impact and deep commitment to Algonquin College’s values. As founder and manager of Canada’s first victimology research centre, she has secured substantial national grant funding, advanced trauma‑informed and victim‑centred research, and trained cohorts of students across multiple institutions. Her scholarship spans victimology, community‑based research and interdisciplinary work, with projects featured in national media and supported by federal partners. Diana’s mentorship, innovative teaching and dedication to equity, accessibility and collaborative partnerships have shaped student success and strengthened applied research at the College. Her contributions continue to expand the reach of victimology research, including new collaborations such as the Paramedic Research Lab.
