Algonquin College is an Ontario public sector community college that offers hands-on, digitally connected, experiential learning in more than 200 programs. It is the largest polytechnic institute in Eastern Ontario, with campuses in Ottawa, Perth, Pembroke and AC Online, serving over 20,000 full time students, and over 210,000 alumni.

Algonquin College is seeking accomplished individuals who align with our mission. We do this by providing career-oriented, post-secondary education and training to assist individuals in finding and keeping employment, to meet the needs of employers and the changing work environment, and to support the economic and social development of the local and diverse communities we serve.

We are seeking applications from individuals who are passionate about the transformative impact that high-quality post-secondary education can have in changing lives and who have a desire and commitment to share their knowledge and skills for the benefit of our community.

At this time, the College is seeking candidates who possess expertise/backgrounds in one or more of the following areas:
• Organizational Leadership
• Legal
• Finance
• Information Technology

As a volunteer board member, your role and responsibility will include fiduciary oversight, strategic direction, foresight, and monitoring enterprise-level corporate risk.

As a member of the Board of Governors, you will be invited to:
• Attend and actively participate in board and committee meetings, retreats,
and generative discussion sessions; and
• Attend an annual Board of Governors social event and various college
events (e.g. Convocation).
