Success Stories and Testimonials

I spent two years applying classes to my startup project which I incorporated shortly after graduation. I am still in touch with classmates and professors who helped me open the door to the real world. I am now a Partner at Arcadis focusing on growth and product marketing.”
– Tomas Kolafa, Graduate, Partner, Arcadis

female smiling alumnus“I enrolled in the BME program to learn two crucial business skills: how to develop more confidence and how to get comfortable taking risks. In two short years, I learned just that. What sets this program apart are its quality professors and practical coursework. You’re always working in groups, so you learn quickly how to collaborate with others. There are also plenty of opportunities with co-op and extracurriculars to put what you learn into practice. Overall, I loved the time I spent at Algonquin College.”
– Keshana King, Graduate, Operations Manager at Impact Hub Ottawa

What I particularly valued was the program’s practical approach, which included hands-on projects, case studies, and opportunities to collaborate with industry partners. The support and mentorship provided by experienced faculty members who are actively involved in the business community is unmatched. I love coming back to the BME classrooms as a guest speaker and being involved in the journey of future BME graduates.”

Work-Integrated Learning

Students have access to the Discovery, Applied Research and Entrepreneurship (DARE) District and our entrepreneurship and innovation centre, including Makerspace.

Activities such as the B-ME Grill (Business Plan Pitch) in which students pitch their business plan to a panel of industry judges and program faculty, provides opportunities for hands-on, experiential learning.

Students have the option to gain real-world experience through a paid co-operative education (co-op) work term. Please note that places in the co-op work term are subject to availability and academic eligibility.
