“I applied for the Business Marketing program because I found the curriculum interesting. Its compulsory courses gave me a firm grounding in key subjects such as Integrated Marketing Communications, E-marketing and Distribution, Marketing Research, and Business Intelligence and Planning. For me, the applied fourth semester client project provided a valuable insight into practical working life, which was incredibly valuable for starting my career.

The Business Marketing program is perfect if you are also looking to keep things exiting! and develop other skills, or challenge the ones you already have learned in the program. I loved that the program has extracurricular activities you can be involved with and credited for. I earned a leadership role with being a Class Representative which gave me the opportunity to voice opinions, concerns, and ideas from my peers.

What I particularly liked about the Business Marketing program is that there’s a kind of family atmosphere thanks to the reasonable size of our program sections and of the school. Numerous group work sessions mean that you get to know your peers, which makes our studies more personal – particularly because we students support each other. Getting to know your teachers, program coordinators and school faculty is an amazing support system that the program lets you take advantage of. The “door is always open” mentality really benefited me as a student to speak with not only my teachers, but teachers that are industry professionals as well.

I highly recommend this program for any entrepreneur at heart, or if you are looking to have a solid understanding of the wonderful world of Business and Marketing.”

“The Business Marketing Program at Algonquin College was like drinking a redbull for my career traction; heart beat increased, I moved faster and hit harder which helped me land a very lucrative first contract out of college. I’d recommend anyone looking to understand how business truly operates, with hands on experience, take this program. It will not disappoint.

Taking Business Marketing at Algonquin College was a great experience; specifically the passion that every teacher brought to class helped motivate me to reach higher and set more audacious goals. Now I set very high expectations of myself, that mark of expecting excellence came from the inspiration I gained from my professors and classmates day in and day out in the program.

Being able to complete an entire marketing plan for a large organization was both the best hands on experience I’ve ever had and best resume builder. It’s crazy to have an interviewer look you right in the eye and say ‘you wrote this, in college!?’ it’s more than most companies accomplish in a year, let alone 4 months.

I started the Business Marketing program in the fall of 2010 when I was 25 years old. I was a bit nervous and had no idea what to expect. Don’t want to sound cliché, however it turned out to be one of the best things I’ve ever done. I thoroughly loved to learn and looked forward to attending every single class and never missed a-one.

My professors were once the Marketing industry’s top performers and chose to become educators to guide and train the leaders of tomorrow. The professors were thoroughly committed to their students, and it was evident that they had a passion for teaching.

Today, I’m working in the high-tech industry and what I learned in the Business Marketing program is spot on to industry practices. I have endless contacts with peers, professors and industry leaders and have built relationships that will last a lifetime.

After completing a University degree I found that I was lacking the hands on experience required in today’s competitive job market. I decided to complement my degree with a diploma in Business Marketing. After completing this program and joining the workforce I found that everything I learned directly translated to my new role. Leaving the security of an educational environment can be a very difficult transition and I was fortunate that I came armed with hands on experience working with real clients. Additionally, all of the group work helped me to understand how to work better with others and the continuous presentations helped me to perfect this skill. I am grateful to all of the professors at Algonquin who put in so much energy to ensure that their students truly benefited from their experience. I would recommend this program to anyone who is looking for the skills necessary to be competitive in today’s job market.

I vividly recall my last few months of high school as my teachers repeatedly told the class that post secondary teachers will not care about you and will no longer provide guidance throughout the learning phase. When looking for a post secondary institution to enrol in I was looking for a faculty that would prove them wrong and I have found just that in the Algonquin College Business Marketing program. In my opinion the foundation of any program is its faculty; it does not matter to what standard the program is held in if you don’t have the caring and supportive faculty teaching it. Thankfully I chose the marketing program provided at Algonquin College.

I will start with the educational material provided in the course; all Algonquin School of Business faculty are industry professionals with years of experience. It means that every day you get taught by people who walk the walk and not only talk the talk. I would much rather have the professor who worked in the industry rather than the one who wrote a theory paper on it. Along with the great educational material you receive you also get the opportunity for co-op internships with top companies, I was lucky enough to work in a team for Corel Software. The education and experience you receive from working on a real plan for a real company and product is invaluable.

At Algonquin College you are also able to work with teams as well as having the option to take on lead roles such as team leader, project manager, treasurer, book keeper etc… This is crucial for the business world as you come out with not only the great education but the experience you have built through working in teams during the entire program.

Lastly I would like to speak of the staff and how they truly care about your success. My personal experiences with great program heads such as Bill Garbarino and Noni Stukel along with many other program faculty has been very beneficial in helping me find placements, continuing my education and of course getting connected with the business world. The professors at Algonquin College truly do care about your success and will do everything they can to help you advance in your education and career. From Noni being an incredible influence and pushing you to strive further with the block transfer agreement to all the work that Bill does in order to get graduates and current students real paying jobs you know you chose the right education. Bill strives to ensure all marketing students have opportunities to attend networking events and fun moral building activities outside of school that really build your relationships with your fellow students and staff. Not enough can be said about the entire Business Marketing faculty, you truly have to see it for yourself to believe it.

Thanks to all the staff I have had the opportunity to develop marketing plans with many top companies while I continue my education. Not only that, Algonquin also gives you the opportunity to earn a degree in half the time afterwards through the many agreements they have with universities all over the world including Australia.

Enough said, if you are looking for an institution that cares, gives great hands on learning and provides you with opportunities for careers and continuing your education than you have found just that at Algonquin College.
