This process is for Ottawa, Perth, and AC Online students accessing CAL services for the first time.

Is Standard Registration right for you? (Click to see!)
Standard Registration is right for you if:
- You prefer direct interaction with an Accessibility Counsellor
- You would like a detailed and guided discussion of CAL service options
- You would like to discuss a comprehensive, individualized plan for accommodations and supports
- You need accommodations such as reduced course load or note-taking support, and/or testing accommodations such as extended time
- You are interested in placement/co-op accommodations
- You are receiving OSAP funding and would like information on potential disability-related funding to support your academic journey
- You are seeking to address a specific issue related to your accommodation needs
How to Register (Standard)
Step 1: Complete the confidential Request for Support form. You can print or complete the form electronically. Alternative formats of this form are available if requested – please contact the Welcome Centre.
Step 2: Gather your supporting documentation.

Step 3: Submit your Request for Support form and documentation to the CAL.

To protect your personal information, it is recommended you use one or more of the following security options when submitting the Request for Support and/or medical documentation
- When possible, use your Algonquin College email account (********@algonquinlive.com)
- Add a password to the documents you are submitting. Important: Send the password in a separate email so your documents can be opened
After you submit your application, our team will review your documentation and contact you to arrange an appointment with the appropriate staff member.
Interim Accommodations
Interim (temporary) accommodations may be provided for students who do not yet have disability documentation or are in the process of being assessed for a disability. Please complete the steps above to access services. For more information, contact the Welcome Centre:
