I have specific questions about my Health Studies program; how can I get my questions answered?

Program coordinators, from every program current ICHS students are accepted to, are invited to visit the class to answer questions.

As an international student, I am concerned about paperwork related to my status. How can I get help?

The International Education Centre (IEC) at Algonquin College is a great resource for international students. You will have an opportunity to ask questions about your international status at an orientation provided by the IEC.

When is the International Student orientation?

This orientation takes place one week after the ICHS classes start each Spring and Fall semester.

I’ve heard I need to complete a medical form by the time I enter my Health Studies program. How can I get help filling this form out and knowing what immunizations I need?

Guest speakers from the Algonquin Health Clinic and from Para Med will visit classes to make sure you are properly immunized prior to entry into your program.

What if I have living, financial, family, or other issues while I am a student in Canada? How can I get help?

Algonquin College has a number of student resources available to assist students who need help, and you will be directed to the appropriate student resource.

What if I have difficulties with my studies in the ICHS program?

Professors in ICHS spend time assisting students. As well a Student Success Specialist is invited to classes to offer tips on good study habits and can also see students individually to ensure they are successful.
