Holiday Closure & Key Academic and Payroll Deadlines – 2026 – 2027

Each year, the College reviews the academic calendar to determine the timing of the December holiday closure.

Following this year’s review, the College will be closed for the holiday period from Thursday, December 24, 2026, to Friday, January 1, 2027, inclusive.

We are pleased to offer employees a full day off on December 24 as a gesture of appreciation for your outstanding dedication, hard work, and resilience.

To clarify, the College will close at the end of business on Wednesday, December 23, 2026, and will reopen at the start of business on Monday, January 4, 2027.

Important dates to note:

End of Fall Term

  • December 12 – End of 2026 Fall Term for most post-secondary programs
  • December 12 – December 19 – Final Assessment Week for most post-secondary programs
  • December 15 – End Date, most AC Online programs and courses
  • December 18 – Last day of most Continuing Education courses
  • December 23 – Grades due to Registrar`s Office (`full-time on-campus` activities)

Winter Term

  • January 4 – Start date for Initial Apprentice Intakes
  • January 4 – End of 2027 Winter Term Student Timetable Change Period for most post-secondary programs with the exception of Schools of Business and Hospitality and Tourism which ends January 15, 2027.
  • January 5 – Grades due for 2026 Fall Term semester intake – September start
  • January 6 – Academic withdrawal date for full-time Online Learning programs – November Intake
  • January 11 – Start Date, most post-secondary programs Start Date, most Continuing Education courses
  • January 11 – AC Day One (Ottawa Campus, AC Online) – Level 1 Students Only

Payroll Submission Dates

  • December 17 (end of day) – all hourly pay group employees must submit time worked for the period of December 5th to 18th
  • December 18 (noon) – all hourly pay group hours submitted must be approved by the People Leader

Employees who wish to extend their holiday period by taking additional vacation days are reminded that all requests must be pre-approved by their People Leader.
