The Pembroke campus has always been known for its welcoming hospitality, but the journey to become a campus that focuses on student success and customer service has come from years of innovation and creativity from its administration, faculty and staff. In fact, the story of how the campus collaborated with the broader community to build the beautiful waterfront campus is the best example of how establishing partnerships is at the core of the campus’s success.

Your visit will include a tour of the spectacular Waterfront Campus, including the picturesque setting that students enjoy along the shores of the Ottawa River; a presentation on the history of the campus including examples of student success strategies that have proven successful; the town and gown relationship between the campus and the city that empowers both organizations to work together to plan and addresses challenges; and more insight into how the culture of the campus has evolved over time but remained focused on helping students succeed. By participating in the Open Doors AC at the Pembroke Campus, you will likely pick up a few bright ideas you can take back to your work at the Ottawa or Perth campuses that can make a difference in the lives of our students and colleagues.

Note: Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. The campus tour will include a walk along the Kiwanis Walkway and the city’s waterfront with a stop at the campus Indigenous Medicine Wheel Garden.
